In an article in last week's Nation, a point was made about how
backbreaking it is to uproot weeds by hand on organic farms that do not
use pesticides. I wonder whether such farms which tend to concentrate
on cash crops such as strawberries, botique greens, etc. are hampered
by the need to focus on what will generate revenue. In other words,
will crop rotation lose money if the rotated crops are not what they
are strictly in the business of marketing? Hope my question is clear.
