CSA/Local Currency Hybrids?

by "James A. Bowery" <jabowery@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 1, 2006 at 01:39 PM

A problem that crops up with local currency systems like Ithaca Hours
is that any grocers in the area that accept the local currency end up
inundated by the local currency. The reasons of this are as obvious as
they are solvable:

It seems obvious that a hybrid system with local currency flow:

Farmer (mints the local currency) pays local labor pays local grocer
pays farmer.

The key is to recognize the farmers as the "mint" for local currency.
