What: Design and Build a Green Home and Garden in the Tropics
Where: Paraiso, Costa Rica
Who: El Centro Verde, environmental research and demonstration
institute. "Teaching ecological literacy and sustainable solutions to
the next generation of earth stewards."
When: March 3 -16, 2007
This course focuses on reducing the housing footprint to the lowest
possible level while still providing comfort and beauty as we build a
model "jungle bungalow". This prototype structure is part of a "green"
community along the Pacific Coast in Guanacaste Costa Rica.
Ecological designers, applied agricultural ecologists, and
entrepreneurs join together to teach a holistic approach to designing
and building a home and fostering a lifestyle with minimal impact,
while creating sustainable economic op****tunity.
This is the ideal experience for those interested in an ecological
approach to creating a second or vacation home or for those studying
conservation development, permaculture or agroforestry. For
