Does anyone here have an interest in technocracy? Technocracy has the
definition of a form of government where those who have a skill or
expertise in a technical area make the decisions in that area. So,
for example, those who know about electrical system manage those
system; those who know about food production manage food production
etc..
For those, non-technical, areas we would use other means of making
decisions such as direct democracy or consensus.
We can class the system as post capitalism as it does not use money
nor private owner****p. It also aims to maintain a high standard of
living for as long as possible, which means we can also class it as a
sustainable system of government. It aims to do this though balancing
societies needs with those of the ecosystem.
Technocracy has a basis in science and, thus, forms an open as well as
a distributed (no central authority) form of government. An
organisation was formed in the 1930s in the US to promote technocracy
there and an organisation was formed in 1006 to promote it in Europe.
The European organisation wants to establish a network of experimental
communities in European to test these ideas out.
