Keeping bee's can be fun, like growing tomatoes, owning a dog, or
going fi****ng.
I don't do it to pollinate the world, but because its fun. I would
suggest, if want to enjoy the bees you should start with a nucleus
colony because its easy for the first year, but you won't have any
honey. If you want a ton of honey, buy an established hive (like I
started)...actually, an established hive is probably easier, because
even if you generally **** up, your still gonna have a bit of honey
and the hive will survive, whereas a nucleus requires good care to
grow into a strong colony..
a hive is a little more expensive, but you'll have more honey, and
generally you can make your money back if you sell it all..
Also...you're a little too late for this year. Do some reading on the
subject and find someone to sell you a colony next spring.
