Yes, they are. Unless it isn't the "bird cherry" or cluster cherry (Prunus
padus); those fruits can be eaten but are astringent and bitter and which
have a poisonous stone. They can be identified without any problems, as
leaves are completely different to other wild cherries (see
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Prunus_padus
for that). But every other
wild cherry usually tastes delicious and is safe to eat.
