Bird Flu - a disarming honesty.

by Pat Gardiner <pat.gardiner@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 29, 2008 at 07:35 PM

Pat's Note: You can teach a vetocrat new tricks. You just have to
threaten them rather a lot.

Once it would have been"illegal infected im****ted chicken or illegal
immigrants" bravely fought of by battalians of bent vets lodged at
the local Ritz and commanded by the Royal Dick's finest dickheads.

Now, we get "may have originated from a low-level strain already at
the site."

At this rate, they will get round to telling us the pigs do indeed
have MRSA and that it arose in Britain from the PMWS epidemic of 1999.

But I won't hold my breath.

Bird flu control zones are lifted

Control zones in and around an outbreak of bird flu in Oxford****re
have been lifted.

More than 25,000 chickens were culled after the outbreak of the H7
strain at Eastwood Farm, near Banbury, on 3 June.

A Defra re****t concluded there was no evidence of the disease
spreading and that it may have originated from a low-level strain
already at the site.

The restricted areas included a 1.8-mile (3km) protection zone and a
6.2-mile (10km) surveillance zone.

Officials from the UK briefed the European Commission's committee on
animal health 10 days ago and vets agreed to lift the the zones
subjected to further tests.
